Adult Beginner Courses
RYA Start Sailing (Level 1) – This course will cover the basic skills of sailing a boat. From getting the boat ready to steering and turning. You will start the course with an instructor aboard to help guide you through exploring sailing in all directions and practising recovery of a capsize, so prepare to get wet!
RYA Improving Skills (Level 2) – Level 2 is about improving the skills learned in level 1. You will learn manoeuvres of the boat and will be able to build your confidence in decision making when on the water. By the end of the course you will be able to sail proficiently single handed in light to medium winds.
Adult Improvers, Racing and Advanced
RYA Better Sailing (Level 3) -This course provides plenty of opportunities for you to improve your skills. We will be looking at developing better technique and sailing more efficiently. This course will also include brief introductions to some of the advanced modules to enable you to decide which direction you would like your sailing to go. Following this course you should be in a position to sail independently with confidence.
RYA Seamanship Skills – This advanced module aims to increase the self-reliance and decision making of the sailor, by spending time developing boat handling and manoeuvring skills as well as looking at what we can do when things don’t quite go to plan.
Youth Courses
RYA Stage 1-This course will teach you the basics of sailing a boat. You will learn everything from how to prepare the boat, to sailing across the wind and looking at how to recover from a capsize. With lots of time on the water staying dry is impossible!
RYA Stage 2 – Stage 2 will look at improving upon skills learned from stage 1 and advancing further. You will look at sailing in all direction of wind and build your confidence when sailing single handed.
RYA Stage 3 – During this course you will develop your skills to become a confident and competent young sailor. You will explore the more technical aspects of sailing and learn to sail more efficiently.
RYA Stage 4– During this course you will practice the skills learnt in Stage 3 in double handed boats as both crew and helm. You will explore new techniques for sailing this type of craft and look at the importance of communication, a necessity for the more advanced modules.

Taster Courses
A fun and relaxing two hours at our picturesque reservoir learning the basics of this exciting sport. We can help you get to grips with the basics and if you do like it then you can move on to other training above to help build your confidence on the water.
Got your own boat?
Why not book some time on the water to hone your skills in your own boat? Build your confidence, get to grips with a new boat or alternatively work on a specific technique or learn a new skill. One of our Instructors will sail with you or remain close-by coaching you from a motorboat. Please contact us for a discussion of your exact requirements.
**All two day courses require a minimum number of participants to run for the full duration. However, we pride ourselves on never cancelling a course due to low numbers. Instead we can run a course in a reduced amount of time. For example a course with a ratio of 1:1 will run for 1.5 days.**
