Wing Foiling Courses

With a growing number of wing foilers regularly flying across the lake, wing foiling has really taken off at NSC! 

Although it’s a relatively new sport the equipment has evolved rapidly enabling people of all shapes and sizes to master flight. The hydrofoil board means that the loads required to get going are low, so you don’t need to be strong to do it.  Plus, it is easier to keep going from gust to gust, so our wing foilers are often still flying when the wind surfers have stopped planing, getting going in anything over a force 2/3. The kit is so simple to set up, it allows for easy rigging and only a small amount of storage space is needed. 

The wing foilers claim the north end of the club alongside the wind surfers.  We have an astro turfed rigging area and a spray hose in that space.  Further up you can park a storage trailer for the same small fee as it costs to store a boat at the club. Wetsuits and buoyancy aides are available to borrow, free from the club. 

We are working with Ken Motion who is an RYA qualified instructor and is providing Wing Foiling lessons, we do have some demo kit available for use and sessions with Ken can be booked at winging@northamptonsailingclub.org
